Branch Out Social is looking for an experienced content creator who loves crafting social media content that actually makes a difference. If you're tired of creating content that just sells products and want your work to support organizations changing the world, this role is for you.

You're an experienced content creator who gets genuinely excited about social media. You're not just scrolling for fun-you're analyzing what works, staying current with trends, and thinking about how to apply new tactics to your clients' content. 

You thrive with creative independence. You don't need (or want) someone looking over your shoulder for every decision. When given a content topic and key information, you know how to run with it, determining whether it should be a reel, carousel, or static post, finding the right hook, and executing it in a way that's fresh and engaging. You take direction well, but you bring your own creative perspective to every piece of content.

You're a strategic thinker, not just a task completer. You don't settle for checking boxes or doing the bare minimum. You push yourself to create content that's better than expected.

You understand that creating content for nonprofits is different. You care about causes over sales. You get excited about helping organizations reach more people who need their services, attract more volunteers, and demonstrate their impact to funders.

Branch Out Social is a boutique social media agency based in Salt Lake City, specializing in organic social media for nonprofits across the U.S.

Our mission is to be a force for positive change in the world of social media and to use the power of social media for good.  We work hard so we can play hard. Our approach is straightforward, strategic, and focused on getting results for organizations doing meaningful work. We're about helping nonprofits reach the people who need their services, demonstrate their impact to funders, and build communities that support their missions.

Our clients range from local Utah arts organizations to national associations, but they all have one thing in common: they're making a difference, and we help them tell that story effectively on social media.

As Our Content Creator, You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Creating 8-12 posts per month for 4-6 nonprofit clients across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and occasionally TikTok

  • Writing engaging copy and captions for all posts

  • Designing high-quality static content, carousel posts, and graphics from provided custom templates, optimized for each platform (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Creating engaging short-form video content including Instagram Reels, and occasionally TikToks that are strategically edited to increase reach, engagement, storytelling, and audience connection

  • Editing short-form video content with strong pacing, hooks, captions, transitions, and platform-specific best practices

  • Translating nonprofit missions, campaigns, and impact stories into compelling social-first content that inspires action and community engagement

  • Collaborating on creative concepts and content ideas that align with client goals, campaigns, and audience growth strategies

  • Preparing and scheduling social media content through the agency’s Sprout Social platform to ensure timely, organized, and strategic content delivery across client accounts

  • Responding to and implementing edits from client feedback 

  • Duplicating approved posts and adapting them for different platforms (resizing images, adding platform-specific links)

  • Collaborating directly with our agency owner and other team members through Slack and email daily to support content creation, strategy execution, and client deliverables

  • Meeting monthly deadlines for content delivery

What You'll Work With:

You’ll be provided with monthly content plans for each client, including content topics, strategic direction, background information, and any relevant assets needed for content creation.

You’ll also have access to custom Canva templates for each client to help streamline the creative process and maintain brand consistency. While many pieces of content will build from existing templates, we highly value creators who bring fresh ideas and creative thinking to the content they produce. Your creative perspective, storytelling instincts, and content ideas are a huge part of what makes great content perform.

Essential Must-Haves For This Role:

  • At least 2 years of content creation experience

  • Proficiency in Canva or another graphic design program

  • Portfolio demonstrating content examples (copy, image creation, and video/reel creation)

  • Ability to think strategically and apply critical and creative problem-solving skills beyond task completion (we won't be holding your hand and explaining every detail, we expect you to be a strategic thinker and independent problem solver!)

  • Are an active social media user who stays current with platform trends, features, and best practices (you should be able to take a content outline and apply relevant current trends to client content)

  • Desire to collaborate within an agency environment rather than managing every aspect of running a client-based business

Bonus Points If You:

  • Have experience with Slack, Asana, and/or Sprout Social

  • Have previous experience working with nonprofits

  • Can provide data showing how your content performed

The Details:

Project-based - 4-6 clients monthly

Compensation:

  • $400 per client creating 12 posts/month

  • $275 per client creating 8 posts/month

  • Potential monthly range: $1,400-$2,400/month

Start Date: July 2026

Location: 100% remote (must be native English speaker, preferably US-based)

Commitment: Minimum 6 months

Growth Potential:

  • Managing additional accounts

  • Taking on engagement responsibilities

  • Potentially growing into a social media manager role
